MVA Rt. 309 and Rt. 303

At 08:34 Sta 50 (Cordova Vol. Firemen's Assoc was dispatched for a MVA at Rt. 309 and Rt. 303.  Engine 51 (505 Dawson) arrived on location with one vehicle off the roadway.  505 established Cordova Road Command.  One patient was transported by A50 to Easton Memorial.  All units cleared at 08:51.

At 17:01 on 3/22/2007 Cordova Vol. Firemen's Assoc. was dispatched for MVA involving a ATV.  PM-50 and PM-94 arrived on location at 29467 Whitetail Drive to find a patient that had crashed a dirtbike into a fence surrounding a pool.  Engine 51 (Messix) arrived on location and assumed Whitetail Drive Command and established a landing zone for the trooper.  The patient was flown by Trooper 6 to a Baltimore trauma center.

Working House Fire 11299 Old Cordova Road

During our annual BullRoast on 3/17/2007, Cordova Vol. Firemen's Assoc. (Sta. 50) was alerted at 23:16 for a house fire in the area of 11299 Old Cordova Road.  The initial alert included Oxford E-27 which was on standby at Sta. 50 for the BullRoast, Cordova (Sta. 50), and Easton (Sta. 60).  E-27 arrived on location with a single story residence with a working fire, and passed command.  E-54 (Secrist) arrived on location right behind E-27 and laid a supply line up the lane.  502 - Secrist assumed Old Cordova Road Command.  A crew from E-54 make an interior attack, while the crew from E-27 stretched several lines to the exterior of the residence.  Command requested a tanker from Queen Anne Hillsboro (Sta. 80) and a standby for Sta. 50.  Crews from Sta. 60 assisted with search, ventilation, and overhaul.  E-85 stoodby at Sta. 50 during the call.  Sta 50 units and E-27 remained on the scene while FM-61 investigated the scene.  All units cleared the scene at 03:41.  For additional photos, see the photo gallery.

Working House Fire Woodwinds Ct. Cordova, MD

02 09 2007 House fire 11558 Woodwind Ct Keyser 007 smal.jpgCordova Vol Firemen's Assoc. was dispatched to a reported well involved house fire on Woodwinds Ct at 14:20.  Intial dispatch involved units from Cordova (Sta 50), Easton (Sta 60), and Talbot ALS.  U-57 with 504 (Dulin) arrived on location with a 2 story house well involved.  504 assumed Woodwinds Ct. Command and requested 2nd Alarm.  Units on the second alarm were from Queen Anne Hillsboro (Sta 80), Ridgley (Caroline Sta 400), Denton (Caroline Sta 300).  A water supply was secured from a nearby farm pond.  Command also requested a Tanker Task Force which brought a tanker from Oxford (Sta 20), Denton (Caroline Sta 300), and Centreville (QA Sta 4).  Queenstown (QA Sta 3) transferred an engine to Sta 50 and Centreville (QA Sta 4) transferred a tanker to Sta 50 for standby.  All units cleared the scene at 17:40.  For additional photos see the Photo Gallery.

Assist to Denton - Caroline Sta 300

Sta 50 - Cordova Vol. Fireman's Association was alert as mutual aid to Denton (Caroline Sta 300) on the 2nd Alarm of a house fire on Bridge Street.  Sta 50 reponded with E54 (Messix) and T53 (Secrist).  For additional photos see the Photo Gallery.
